Description

The Sands is a popular takeaway located in the Sands Complex close to Tahunanui beach. Friendly owners Roy and Bruce serve what locals say are some of the tastiest fish and chips in town. They also sell a range of other fast food items including burgers, hot dogs and various vegetarian and gluten free options.

Favourites include the blue cod which is cooked to perfection in a light tempura batter. Other
popular choices are their Bluff oysters (in season) and spicy mussels.

Enjoy your meal on the outside tables, or head down to the beach for a delicious picnic in the sunshine.
