10th Sept 2020: TBA Press Release

The Tahunanui Business and Citizens Association have called a community meeting next Thursday 17th September at the Tahunanui Community Hub at 7.30pm to discuss the proposal from NZTA to create priority lanes and clear way zones ( no parking ). These are proposed for Annesbrook Drive, Tahunanui Drive and Rocks Rd. The TBCA and their members are opposed to the concept and the impact it will have on the business and community service sector. It was tried before and failed so was withdrawn.

The Government Transport Agency have yet to determine the hours in the morning and afternoon when no parking will be in force however have hinted it could be longer than last time. Small business owners are hurting now with the effects of COVID 19 so this will only add to their misery. The Tahunanui Business Association is now the Tahunanui Business and Citizens Association to better reflect the concerns of the wider population base and this meeting is a good example of what we can achieve together.
